AGCO Fendt: Central control block for a narrow-track tractor



ARGO-HYTOS has been reliably supplying high-quality hydraulic components to the renowned tractor manufacturer AGCO Fendt in Marktoberdorf/Germany for decades.

For this reason, the customer offered ARGO-HYTOS the opportunity to provide solutions for the application „central control blocks for working hydraulics“ for the narrow-track tractor 200 V/F/P Vario, which is mainly used in fruit and wine growing.

The task was to design two central control blocks for a constant and a variable displacement pump system including two end plates and to accommodate them in the existing installation space so that all connections are still accessible.


Due to the intensive and very good cooperation and the bilateral „know-how“ transfer between ARGO-HYTOS and the AGCO Fendt development and test departments, a very compact and optimized solution could be developed.

The task was to integrate a large number of functions (volume flow summation, suspension) in one block. This meant for the development process:
New development of valves, intensive testing of the system in the overall machine network, fine-tuning with the aid of testing and simulation.

Both central control blocks are manufactured from the same raw casting. The pilot pressure generation was implemented in an end plate, and the front axle suspension was also integrated, thus saving piping and installation space.

AGCO Fendt equips the central control blocks with valve discs according to the configuration required by the end customer and completes the blocks with the end plates.


AGCO Fendt‘s expectations in terms of functions, installation space, valve performance and quality were met in full. The ARGO-HYTOS application team also supported AGCO Fendt on site with measurements, tests and finding solutions for necessary adjustments in order to meet the set project schedule.
