Water contamination is one of the primary causes of hydraulic system failure and accelerated component wear. Even small amounts can trigger corrosion, accelerate additive depletion, and negatively influence fluid performance. With the OPS2 010 Oil Dewatering System, ARGO-HYTOS provides an advanced solution for the efficient removal of free, emulsified, and dissolved water, ensuring stable fluid performance and reliable system operation.
Efficient Dehydration and Optional Filtration
The OPS2 010 uses a proven vacuum dehydration process to extract water and dissolved gases from hydraulic and lubrication fluids.
In addition to dehydration, the OPS2 can optionally also be used for the removal of solid particles when a filter element is installed in the integrated housing. The EXAPOR®MAX filter elements by ARGO-HYTOS offer high separation efficiency and a large dirt‑holding capacity, ensuring maximum component protection and long service intervals. For hydraulic oils with low electrical conductivity (< 500 pS/m at 20 °C), the OPS2 010 can be equipped with EXAPOR®SPARK PROTECT elements, which combine particle removal with protection against electrostatic discharge.
This combination enables comprehensive fluid conditioning in a compact, mobile unit.
Intelligent Monitoring and Proven Performance
Integrated sensors measure fluid parameters like humidity, temperature and conductivity continuously and ensure stable process control. All measured data is stored in the internal memory and can be printed immediately during the purification process or dowloaded for further evaluation at any time. The operation is intuitive via a touch panel, supporting both manual and automatic modes with predefined settings.
Tested according to ISO 18237, the OPS2 010 achieves a free water removal rate of approximately 1.2 liters per hour and offers up to 20% higher dewatering performance with optimized process parameters. Optional add‑ons like a particle monitor or an additional heater enable adaptation to specific application needs.
By reliably removing water and contaminants, the OPS2 010 helps extend oil lifetime, reduce component wear, and increase machine availability, ultimately lowering maintenance effort and operating costs.
