Fluid & Motion Control Product Specialist

SUMMARY

The Product Specialist is responsible for developing customized product solutions for current and prospective customers and acting as the subject matter expert to aid the Sales Team in generating new business.
The Product Specialist provides technical support and training for internal and external stakeholders.
This role has no direct reports and reports to the North America Sales & Marketing Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supports internal and external stakeholders by:

Managing North America Hydraulic Valve portfolio. Hydraulic Cartridge Valves, Cetop Valves and Custom Hydraulic Manifolds (HICs).
Presenting customized presentations with the sales team that address customer needs while highlighting ARGO-HYTOS Inc. value proposition.
Providing customers, Sales, and Customer Service onsite product and sales training to include new and existing products, benefits and features, and product updates.
Partnering with Customer Service to develop the best in class customer experience by anticipating customer needs, providing literature, and proactively seeking customer feedback.
Coordinating with cross-functional teams to provide product engineering, development, management and sales solutions.
Guiding customers through steps to troubleshoot product and product systems to establish full functionality.
Obtaining customer feedback and suggest appropriate product revisions.

Performing job duties to meet department expectations by:

Remaining up-to-date with product knowledge, business flow, sales process and market dynamic in order to provide accurate information and make effective recommendations to both the customer and the Company.
Recommending product enhancements and updates to identify new business opportunities.
Collecting, documenting, and distributing critical product performance issues to required internal stakeholders.
Accurately documenting customer needs and communications in SAP and applicable systems.
Understanding and following all Company policies and procedures, including complying with general and job-specific safety guidelines.
Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Structural, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent fluid power experience, certification and education is required.
3+ years working in a specification-based industry and engineering experience is required.
2+ years working directly with customers is required.
Experience using computer programs, MS Office and ERP is required

This position requires complex technical knowledge with the ability to make technical recommendations on product solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to think on your feet to field technical questions.

Ability to recognize needs and initiate resolutions to meet customer needs.
Ability to create convincing proposals and documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

This position can be remote or at our office in Bowling Green, OH. If remote, periodical visits to the office will be required.
Ability to travel up to 25% as required (trade shows, client sites, facilities, and other events).
Must meet attendance standards including maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
Must have acceptable background check and driving record that meets Company standards at all times.
Must present self positively and professionally both in demeanor and appearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Walking, kneeling, standing, stooping, sitting, driving, hearing, talking, vision (close, distant, color, depth perception, adjust focus), and use of hands and fingers. Light lifting of 25 lbs. is occasionally needed.
